Would'nt personally do again but was good

Felt like the email stressed you needed to be there quite early and then there was nothing to do but stand in the freezing cold til gone 9.30. Wasnt really much of an atmosphere definitely wouldn't recommend going to this event on your own. Getting out of the car park was an absolute nightmare my car got stuck because it was just on a field that became boggy very quickly. I also don't agree with the fact you wont refund if you cancel... and was difficult with the roads being open as you couldnt get around cars meaning you were losing precious seconds if like in my case you were going for a pb however the medal was worth it as it is a really really nice one so i probably would recommend just for the medal

Thank you for taking the time to leave such honest and detailed feedback. We appreciate you sharing both what worked for you and what didn’t. We’re pleased you liked the medal and felt there were positives to take from the day, but we also recognise the points you’ve raised around waiting in the cold, atmosphere, parking conditions, and the challenges of racing on open roads. As a winter event, we do ask runners to arrive in good time to help ease parking and registration, but we fully understand that standing around in cold conditions isn’t ideal. This is something we’ll continue to reflect on, particularly around start-line communication and timing. Parking on grass is always weather dependent, and while we worked to manage this as safely as possible, we appreciate it caused frustration for some when leaving. In terms of cancellations, our refund policy is clearly outlined at the point of booking. We do offer the option of cancellation insurance at the time of entry, which allows runners to claim a refund if they’re unable to attend. We understand this won’t suit everyone, but it does provide flexibility for those who choose it. The course operates under agreed traffic management plans, and while safety must always come first, we appreciate that for runners chasing a PB, open-road sections and traffic can feel frustrating. Thank you again for your candid feedback. It genuinely helps us learn and improve, and we appreciate you giving the event a go, even if it wasn’t quite the right fit for you overall.

Lovely, well organised event

As it was a cold day, it might be nice to have a charity collection point for old tops so that we could queue up in those tops. Great event though!

An excellent out and back course with different terrains which I hope becomes an Annual Race.

I personally liked the race route with the farm tracks, private roads and a small amount of road with traffic which was very well marshalled .Plenty of encouragement all around the course.

Nice friendly beginner event

Would be great to have the start/finish line at the end of the driveway up to the farm (not near the road), think that would be a lovely finish to the race with spectators along the side. I think for next year expand the catering options. We would have stayed longer and had a hot drink and something to eat, but with just one small catering van for over 500 people it just took too long.
Overall though, a really good local event, with a nice run through the country side, will definitely do next year. Thanks to everyone for organising.

Organiser comment:

Thank you for taking the time to leave such thoughtful and constructive feedback. We’re really pleased you found the event friendly and welcoming for beginners, and that you enjoyed the countryside route and overall experience. Creating a supportive local event is something we’re very keen to continue building. Thank you as well for the suggestions. The start and finish location is positioned where it is not only for safety and traffic-management reasons, but also to ensure the course meets the required 10km distance. Moving it further up the driveway would lengthen the route and take it way outside that distance requirement, so the current position is the best balance between safety, accuracy and runner experience. Your comments about catering are absolutely fair. With the turnout we had, demand was higher than expected, and expanding food and drink options is something we’ll be actively looking at for future editions so runners and supporters can stay longer and enjoy the finish area. Thanks again for the kind words and helpful feedback. We really appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you back at the Tabor Farms Winter 10km next year.

The event was okay

I did like the event but I do think the main road that we had to run on at the start and finish should of been closed at the beginning and end of the race or for 2 hours to cover the runners up to the cut off time. As a slower runner I felt uncomfortable with the amount of cars coming past me and forcing me into the hedge further, also once the runners had finished the slower runners were asked to stop to let cars out when they were still completing the event.

Reviewed using Eventrac, Jan 2026
Organiser comment:

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for being so open with your feedback. We’re glad you found positives in the event overall, but we do take your comments about the open road sections very seriously, particularly how that felt as a slower runner. Feeling uncomfortable or pressured by traffic is not the experience we want anyone to have. The main road sections operated under an agreed traffic management plan, which meant full closures weren’t permitted for the duration of the event. Safety is always the priority, and marshals were briefed to protect runners first while managing vehicles as carefully as possible. That said, we fully understand how it can feel very different when you’re towards the back of the field, and your point about runners still completing the event while cars were being released is a fair one. This is exactly the kind of feedback we need to review how we manage those sections, especially around the latter part of the race and cut-off window, to ensure slower runners feel just as supported and safe as everyone else. Thank you again for taking part and for sharing your perspective. It genuinely helps us reflect and improve as the event develops.

Very flat and nice route

I feel the road being left open was a bit dangerous. We were asked to run towards the traffic but this wasn't possible due to cars being on the road and marshals asking us to cross the road running in the same direction as the traffic. Once off the main road it was really nice only passed a few cars that were very thoughtful.
On the way back on the main road you had people exiting the car park although there was a marshals runners where asked to stop to let traffic out and there was traffic build up on the main road which was a bit frustrating for some runners as the cars would go round and then pull right in close to the hedge which then ment runners were slowed down or had to go into the middle of the road to pass them.
My suggestion would be to close the main road for the duration of the race as it is a timed event of 2 hours.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed and thoughtful feedback. We’re really pleased you enjoyed the flat route and the quieter sections of the course, and that once off the main road the experience felt much more relaxed. That’s good to hear. We do take your comments about the open-road sections seriously, particularly around how instructions felt inconsistent and how traffic movements affected runners, especially on the return leg. The road operated under an agreed traffic management plan, which meant a full closure wasn’t permitted, but safety is always our priority and marshals were briefed to manage runners and vehicles as carefully as possible within those constraints. That said, we fully understand how this can feel frustrating and uncomfortable, especially when you’re mid-race and being slowed or asked to pause. Your suggestion about closing the road for the duration of the event is noted and is exactly the kind of feedback we need when reviewing options with local authorities for future editions. These points will form part of our post-event review as we look at how we can improve flow, clarity and runner experience, particularly for those further back in the field. Thank you again for sharing your experience so openly. Feedback like this genuinely helps us refine and improve the event as it develops.

Well-organised - flat but fun!

Excellent race for getting a consistent pace going.
Marshalls were friendly and encouraging.
One small thing is race category reporting - usually the age you are over not under? - I’m 66 so I’m normally running V65 whereas you have it as V70 ?

Thank you for the feedback, and we’re really pleased you enjoyed the race. It’s great to hear you found it well organised, flat but fun, and a good course for holding a consistent pace. The marshals will also really appreciate the mention, their encouragement plays a big part in the day. You’re absolutely right regarding the age categories. They were briefly out of sync on race day, but as soon as this was brought to our attention it was corrected and updated as quickly as possible. Categories should now be displaying correctly. Thanks again for raising it and for supporting the Tabor Farms Winter 10km. We hope to see you back on the start line again.

Amazing!!

Another great event, smoothly ran and organised. The Marshalls are so supportive and always smiling and happy. The course was a great course, thoroughly enjoyed it. It went smoothly and it felt safe running on the road. The medal is also ACE. One of my favourites. Will definitely do it again next year. Its a PB course for sure
