We wanted to provide you with an important update regarding the Southend Marathon.
After a great deal of work behind the scenes, we have made the difficult decision that the Southend Marathon will not be going ahead this year 2026
Planning an event of this scale properly is absolutely critical, and despite our best efforts, we have not been able to get all the key elements in place in time to deliver the safe, high-quality event that you would expect from us. We are as disappointed as you are not to be able to bring this event to the town this year.
That said, this is not the end of the road. We remain fully committed to bringing the Southend Marathon to life, and we will continue working to make it happen as soon as possible, with the level of organisation and experience it deserves.
