Brilliant. Love these Rochford runs
Nice and flat. Few gradients however I had a great time. Look forward to the next one(s). Keep me posted.
Thanks Steve, really appreciate the kind words. We’re delighted you enjoyed the run, the route and the atmosphere, and great to hear you had a good time out there. Thanks for the continued support of our Rochford events, we’ll definitely keep you posted on what’s coming next.

Felicity Kosloff
I enjoyed it overall
A few more toilets would be great
Thanks Felicity, we’re really pleased you enjoyed the event overall. Thank you for the feedback on toilets as well, that’s noted and something we’ll look to improve for future editions. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and hope to see you again.
Shelley Johnson
A return to event
More toilets are needed, if you arrive earlier and use the toilet, you'll drink before the race and need another wee. There just needs to be more
Thanks Shelley, we really appreciate the feedback and your support of the event. We’re pleased you enjoyed the scenery, atmosphere and organisation. On the toilets, there was unfortunately a miscommunication with the council regarding the opening of the public facilities, which we acknowledge impacted the morning. This has been noted and will be resolved for future events. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and we hope to see you back again.
Robert Spears
Organised very well like the remembrance run very friendly Marshalls
Music at the start would help with atmosphere
Thanks Robert, really appreciate the feedback and the kind words about the organisation and our marshals. We did have some light music at the start, but as the square is also a residential area we have to be mindful of people living and sleeping nearby, which limits how loud we can go. That said, we do take the point on atmosphere on board and will look at ways to enhance it within those constraints for future events. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review.

Great Event
Perfect pre season run, perfect course and great marshalling.
Really enjoyable and an awesome medal
Thanks Justin, really appreciate the great feedback. We’re delighted you enjoyed the course, the marshalling and the medal, and that it worked well as a pre-season run. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and for supporting the event, we hope to see you again soon.
Ej Nicholls
Only negative is the amount of toilets prior to the run other than that a very well run event
Thanks EJ, really appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. We’re pleased you felt it was a well run event overall. On the toilets, there was unfortunately a miscommunication with the council regarding the opening of the public facilities, which impacted the pre-race period, this has been noted and will be resolved for future events. Thanks again for your understanding and we hope to see you again.
Kevin Peters
Good run for the first attempt
Overall I really enjoyed the race, it was nice to run on roads which, as a runner, I would typically avoid due to the lack of pavement.
Registion was simple and well organised, it was quick to get my race number, and then just a short walk to the start.
The start had a good atmosphere and the number of runners meant it wasn’t too busy.
The course was great, mostly flat with a few inclines that made it more challenging and interesting.
Aid stations were good, 1 more would have been great, perhaps at the turn point.
There were a few incidents with cars unfortunately, I had a car wing mirror clip my shorts, it didn’t touch me but was very close. I also witnessed a few other near missed particularly on the Wallasea leg with runner going in opposing directions. I don’t know if having signs out in the week before the event would help, to let people know to avoid the area, obviously closed roads would be ideal but I guess that would annoy too many drivers! As someone who cycles in this area I’m all to aware of how impatient, aggressive and entitled some drivers are, and no matter how much notice you give, if they want to be on those roads when their are runners there, they will be, because we all know the roads are only for the cars don’t we!
Thanks for a great event Jon, the organisation must have been a nightmare but it’s appreciated, keep up the good work mate.
Thanks Kevin, really appreciate you taking the time to leave such detailed and balanced feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed the course, organisation and overall atmosphere, especially for a first edition. Your points around traffic and safety are completely understood, and experiences like those you described are exactly why we’re actively exploring closed road options and improved advance signage for future events. The suggestion of an additional aid station is also noted and appreciated. Thanks again for the support and kind words, it genuinely means a lot, and we hope to see you again.
Andy Newnham
Excellent event, thanks everyone
Thanks Andy, really appreciate the feedback. We’re delighted you enjoyed the event and thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Hope to see you again at a future event.
Tim Gilbert
Ok but dangerous
Dangerous route with the open roads. Not enough Marshalls and stationed incorrectly, the blind bends to and from wallasea was an accident waiting to happen.
Thank you Tim for taking the time to leave your feedback. We understand your concerns around safety on open roads, particularly in the sections you’ve highlighted, and we acknowledge that this impacted your experience. Your comments around marshalling and positioning are noted and form part of our post-event review. Feedback like this is important, and it reinforces why we are actively exploring changes to improve safety for future editions. Thank you for being open and honest with your input.
Natasha Howard
Lovely scenery spoiled by dangerous drivers
The Marshalls and people at registration and doing medals were lovely. Helpful and encouraging. Thanks to all volunteers. However, holding this on open roads was asking for trouble. I'm surprised that no one was injured, particularly round the blind corners. So many frustrated / dangerous drivers seemingly deliberately trying to run people over. If you can't get permission to close roads you need much more signage and promotion so people know to avoid the area for a couple of hours. Also, terrible toilet provision. You needed at least twice as many portaloos plus one of those stand up things for men.
Thank you Natasha for taking the time to leave such detailed and honest feedback. We’re really pleased to hear how supportive and encouraging you found the volunteers and registration team, they’ll truly appreciate that. Your concerns around safety on open roads, particularly at blind corners, are fully understood and acknowledged, and they strongly reinforce why we are actively exploring closed road options along with improved signage and advance promotion for future editions. On the toilets, we recognise this fell short, there was a miscommunication regarding facilities which impacted provision and this will be addressed properly going forward. Thank you again for sharing your experience so openly, feedback like this is vital in helping us improve and deliver a safer event in the future.
Stacy Hember
Not enough toilets
Needed more toilets at the start ( only 4 available for 700 people is not enough) and in places more Marshalls. Also the use a bone conductor headphones.
Thanks Stacy for taking the time to leave feedback. We acknowledge the issues around toilet provision, this was impacted by a miscommunication regarding facilities and will be resolved for future events. Your comments around marshalling are also noted and form part of our post-event review. On headphones, all headphones, including bone conductor headphones, were not permitted due to the open road nature of the course, for safety reasons. Thank you again for your input, it’s appreciated and helps us improve going forward.
Jake Ramsey

Great event - as was the Tabor Farms 10k. I'm going to sign up for all your events, many many thanks to the organisers, marshals, people giving out numbers, everyone involved ❤️
Thanks Simon, that genuinely means a lot to read. We’re delighted you enjoyed the event and the Tabor Farms 10k too, and your support for what we’re building is hugely appreciated. A massive thank you from all of us involved, we’d love to see you at many more events to come.

What a fabulous place to do your first half marathon. Beautiful countryside x
Marshall’s were amazing and the ladies giving refreshments were so encouraging- which helped when legs felt like lead.
Thanks Michelle, really lovely feedback to read. We’re so pleased Rochford was the place for your first half marathon and that you enjoyed the countryside. Great to hear the marshals and refreshment teams gave you that extra lift when it mattered most. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and well done on your run.

Cut off times could put beginners off
More toilets please. Just made the start. We were in the queue for about 40 minutes
Thanks Julie, really appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed the scenery, atmosphere and organisation. Your comments around cut off times are noted, and we’ll review how these are communicated and applied to ensure they’re clear and supportive. On toilets, there was unfortunately a miscommunication regarding facilities which impacted queues at the start, and this will be addressed for future events. Thank you again for your honest input, it’s genuinely helpful.
Sebastian Langdon

Great scenery with room for improvement
3 portaloos and one public toilet for 650 runners is pretty poor organisation. There was at least 60 people still queuing for the toilets at 9:15am.
Noticed a lot of runners missing water at stations as only one person giving out water.
Other than that, an enjoyable route. Would be better with road closures in place.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, it’s appreciated. We’re pleased you enjoyed the scenery and the route overall. On toilets, we acknowledge this fell short on the morning due to a miscommunication around facilities, which led to queues, and this will be resolved for future events. At the water stations we did have four volunteers in place, however we recognise this didn’t always come across as smoothly as intended and we’ll review layout and hand-out flow to improve this. Your comments around road closures are also noted and align with what we’re actively exploring going forward. Thank you again for your honest and constructive input.
